If a property sale falls through, we’re here to help you promote it again. Here’s what to do.

Change the listing date

Make the property available again on our site. You might need to contact your feed to do this.

  1. Check your property meets our relisting criteria.
  2. Read through our fall through declaration.
  3. Email customersupport@rightmove.co.uk within 7 days of making your listing available again.
  4. In your email, include:
  • the words “I agree to the fall through declaration” to confirm that you’ve read and understood it. Best practise is to copy and past this into the email to avoid spelling mistakes.
  • a web link to your property on our site. For example, https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/123456789#/?channel=RES_BUY

  • Send a separate email for each fall through property.
  • You don’t need to send us a memorandum of sale.

      5. We’ll review your email within 1 hour.

If your property meets our fall through relisting criteria, we’ll update the listing date. This will mark the property as ‘new’ on our site and in email alerts and help promote it to potential buyers.

If the property doesn’t meet the criteria, there are other ways to promote the property.

Fall through relisting criteria

Our relisting criteria states that we can only change the listing date for a property if:

  • The property was marked as unavailable, Sold STC or Under Offer for 7 weeks or more
  • The property is now available on our site.
  • You have sent the words 'I agree to the fall through declaration' to customersupport@rightmove.co.uk within 7 days of making the property available.
  • The property has had no property alerts in the last 7 days

Please be advised that your property listing must meet all parts of the fall through criteria to be relisted as a new property. If your property listing only meets one part of the criteria we cannot set this as new.

Fall through declaration

I understand that inaccurately declaring a property as a fall through is likely to be classed as a misleading action contrary to Regulation 5 of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, with a resultant penalty of a fine and/or up to 2 years imprisonment, and that, if requested, I authorise Rightmove to provide confirmation of this declaration to Trading Standards or any statutory body to assist in their investigations.

I understand that inaccurately declaring a property as a fall through will be classed by Rightmove as a breach of Clause 4.1.3 of the Rightmove General Terms and Conditions (GTCs) and will result in Rightmove terminating our membership in accordance with clause 10.2.5 of the GTCs.

I declare this property as a fall through and request that it be returned to market.
