Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Rightmove Plus account. When it’s enabled, you’ll need to enter a code sent to your mobile phone when logging in to areas that contain personal data.

Learn more about Two-Factor Authentication here.

To set up 2FA:
  1. Log in to your Rightmove Plus account.
  2. Follow the on‑screen prompt to set up 2FA.
  3. Enter your mobile number when asked.
  4. Enter the verification code sent to your phone to complete the setup.
Important:
  • A mobile number can only be linked to one Rightmove Plus account at a time.
  • If your number is already linked to another account, you won’t be able to use it again until it is removed from the previous account.

If you experience an error

Error message: “Something went wrong” when setting up 2FA

This usually means your mobile number is already linked to another Rightmove Plus account.
What to do:
  1. Email customersupport@rightmove.co.uk
  2. Include the following details:
    • The mobile number you’re trying to add
    • Confirmation that you’re happy for the number to be removed from the previous account
We will then remove the number so you can use it on your current account.

If your SMS code doesn’t arrive

Try the following steps:
  1. Click re-send code on the screen.
  2. Turn aeroplane mode on and off on your phone to refresh your connection.
  3. Check your phone’s spam or junk SMS folder (available on both iOS and Android).
  4. Make sure your phone has signal and can receive messages.
If you still don’t receive the code, contact customersupport@rightmove.co.uk and explain the issue.
