Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an added layer of security that we have introduced into some areas of Rightmove Plus that contain personal data.

If you're Rightmove Plus account is prompting you to set up your 2FA, but there is an error saying 'something went wrong', the most common cause for this error is because the mobile number is already in use on another Rightmove Plus account. 


Agents are only able to set up a mobile number on one Rightmove Plus account at one time.


So we can look into removing your mobile number from your previous account, you'll need to send an email to customersupport@rightmove.co.uk, confirming the below details:


  • The mobile number that you're trying to add.
  • Are you happy for us to remove your number from the previous account it's linked to?
