When you search for properties, the property type you select is mapped to one or more internal property categories. This ensures you see the most relevant results.


Here’s how each property type is handled:


Houses

  • Detached
    Returns Detached houses.
  • Semi‑detached
    Returns Semi‑detached houses.
  • Terraced
    Returns Terraced houses.
 If you select Detached, Semi‑detached, and Terraced together, all house types will be returned.


Flats

  • Flat
    Returns both Flats and Apartments.


Bungalows

  • Bungalow
    Returns Bungalows only.
Important to know:
  • Bungalows are not included in Detached, Semi‑detached, or Terraced searches, even if they are a sub‑type.
  • A property will be classed as a Bungalow if the word “bungalow” appears in the property summary or key features as detailed in our Keyword Logic FAQ. 


Land

  • Land
    Returns Land – Land listings only.
  • Commercial land listings are not included.
  • Here’s how the categories break down:
    1. Land under "Commercial Property"
      This land is exclusively for commercial use and appears only in commercial search results.
    2. Land under "Land" ("Land Land")
      This land can be used for either residential or commercial purposes. It appears in both residential and commercial search results, making it versatile for different types of development.
    3. Farm Land
       Like "land land," farm land appears in both residential and commercial searches and can serve various purposes depending on its zoning and usage.


Park Homes

  • Park Home
    Returns Park Homes only.


Student Properties

  • Student Halls
    Returns Private Halls only.

If you experience an error

If the results don’t look right:
  1. Double‑check the property types you’ve selected in the search filters.
  2. Review the property description to see how it has been classified (for example, whether it mentions “bungalow”).
  3. Try removing or adding property types to widen your search.
