What is a Property Alert?

A property alert is an email sent out to consumers when a property that is uploaded to Rightmove meets their criteria.

When a property is added as 'added today' or 'reduced today' on Rightmove, we send properties out in the automatic 7 day email alerts.

You can read more about how to get your property sent back out in alerts on our FAQ page here.

How do our Property Alerts work?

Each property within an alert email is randomised. No more than 14 new/reduced properties can be included in the email body itself. This is to prevent home hunters from being inundated with emails from Rightmove.

We always include the total number of new/reduced properties added to the website at the top of our property alert emails. This is so that home hunters are aware that there are more properties available that meet their requirements. To save them time doing their search from scratch to view these properties, there's a direct link to the search results within the email.

For example, if over 14 properties are uploaded that meet both Person A and Person B's criteria, the email that Person A receives will have a different list of properties to what Person B receives.

How to find out how many alerts a property went out in.

To find out how many alert emails a property has been sent in, you can send a request to our Customer Support team via the email customersupport@rightmove.co.uk.

If you have any feedback or you'd like to report a technical error with property alerts, you can also send this to our Customer Support email.
